Geneva Rock Products is excited to welcome hangliding and paragliding enthusiasts from across the country to the Point of the Mountain Flight Park on September 27th and 28th for the first ever Accuracy Landing Competition.
The event, sponsored by the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association will feature 180 individuals participating in three different events – Paragliding, Hang Gliding and Speed Flying. The goal of each event is to award the glider who cleanly lands closest to the target.
Stacy Whitmore, President of the Central Utah Air Sport Association is the Meet Director for this competition. Whitmore has a long history working with Geneva Rock Products. This valued relationship brought about an excellent opportunity for Geneva Rock to support the event through a donation of products and services offered at our Point of the Mountain Rock Quarry.
“We are excited to host this type of national event at the Point of the Mountain,” Whitmore said. “We appreciate Geneva Rock’s donation of sand and aggregate materials, which has allowed us to create the landing targets for the competition.”
Geneva Rock is excited to participate in this event, which is bound to be a sight worth watching.
We wish the best of luck to each flyer and hope this competition will become an annual tradition at the Point of the Mountain Flight Park.
