He began working for Clyde Companies at Geneva Rock Products in 2004 as an asphalt production manager. Waylund’s responsibilities in the position steadily increased until he transitioned to Bridgesource in 2021. Prior to his time at Clyde Companies, he worked seven years at a construction and civil engineering firm.
Outside of Clyde Companies, Waylund was the organizing chair and founding charter member of the Utah Asphalt Pavement Association (UAPA) in 2010. He served as its President for two non-consecutive years. Additionally, he participated as a board member for 11 years prior to his current role at Bridgesource. In 2019, Waylund was awarded the UAPA Industry Leader Award for demonstrating commitment and leadership to the asphalt and construction industry.
Waylund graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Brigham Young University and received his professional engineer’s license a year later, which he actively maintains.
In his free time, Waylund enjoys riding motorcycles, both dirt and street bikes. He also likes woodworking, particularly custom making longboards from scratch. He and his wife, Marsha, are the parents of three children, two boys and a girl.
