Held every other year, this retreat gathers over 180 leaders from across Clyde Companies and our subsidiaries to align on vision, strengthen relationships, and invest in what makes our teams exceptional—you.

Our time together includes leadership development, collaboration, and conversations about direction. We’ll also take time to connect and recharge.

Please note that activity timings are subject to change. Activities also have participant limits and will be filled on a first come, first-served basis. Once an activity is full, you will no longer see it as an option to select from on the form.


Monday, March 9

Arrivals & Dinner

If attending from out of state, arrive to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and head to the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa to check in. Please allow for 25-minute transfers to the resort. Kick off the retreat with a group dinner and entertainment.


Tuesday, March 10 – Morning

While employees attend meetings, guests can participate in activities.

Guest Activity Option 1: Lower Salt River Kayaking Tour

Embark on a scenic adventure along the Lower Salt River with a guided kayaking experience. This approximately 7-mile tour offers a unique opportunity to witness Arizona’s stunning desert beauty and perhaps even spot wild horses grazing peacefully along the riverbanks. Whether you choose a tandem or single kayak, you’ll enjoy a mix of tranquil waters and light rapids, perfect for beginners and seasoned paddlers alike. Certified guides will enrich your journey with fascinating stories about the region’s native wildlife, ecosystem, and cultural history. Ideal for nature lovers, thrill-seekers, and anyone looking to connect with Arizona’s serene side from a whole new perspective. Please allow for approximately 40-minute transfers.

Timing: 7:25 AM – 11:10 AM

Duration: 3-4 hours with 2-2.5 hours of kayaking

Recommended Attire: Casual athletic wear that can get wet, change of dry clothes, water proof shoes.

Guest Activity Option 2: Golf

Nestled within The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, this renowned Troon-managed course boasts 27 championship holes, divided into three distinct nine-hole loops named Acacia, Ironwood, and Mesquite, designed by Scott Miller. Each routing showcases rolling terrain, dramatic elevation changes, and serene desert and mountain vistas, delivering an authentic Sonoran Desert golfing adventure. You will be golfing the same 9-hole course, Ironwood, twice for 18-holes. If the course tee times fill up, you may be golfing at a nearby course, based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guest Activity Option 3: Sip & Blend Smoothie Class

Start your day with purpose and flavor! Experience a fun, hands-on class perfect for health-conscious individuals and busy families alike. Guests will explore the powerful plants of the desert and nutrient-rich superfoods native to the American Southwest, guided by expert chefs who highlight the ingredients’ health benefits, history, and culinary uses. You’ll have the chance to create your own custom smoothie blend, then head to the chef’s table to top it off with energizing add-ins like chia, cacao nibs, and fresh local fruits. Each participant will receive a branded cup, recipe cards, a personal take-home kit with dry ingredients, and access to all necessary cookware and blenders. It’s an engaging, flavorful way to learn more about wellness—and blend up a little joy while you’re at it! This activity will take place at the resort.

Guest Activity Option 4: Guided Desert Hiking – McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Embark on a guided hiking adventure through iconic desert landscapes from the Gateway Trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. This trail offers a unique perspective of the Sonoran Desert’s natural beauty. Led by a knowledgeable local guide, guests will explore scenic paths lined with towering saguaro cacti, diverse desert flora, and sweeping mountain views. Along the way, the guide shares fascinating insights into the region’s geology, wildlife, and ecological history. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for a range of fitness levels, providing an accessible yet enriching outdoor experience. Whether guests seek a peaceful desert walk or a more invigorating climb, this hike offers an inspiring way to connect with nature and discover Arizona’s remarkable desert terrain. Please allow for approximately 15-minute transfers.

Following morning meetings and activities, lunch will be available at the resort in the Rainmakers Ballroom and Northern Sky Terrace from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.


Tuesday, March 10 – Afternoon

Activity Option 1: Racing School

Radford Racing School is the home of racing and high-performance driving in Arizona. The School is the largest purpose-built driver training facility of its kind in North America.

At the heart of the 450-acre racing facility is our 1.6-mile, 15-turn track purpose-built to challenge and refine the skills of drivers of all levels. In addition to the main racetrack, they also have 3 additional road courses and a NHRA drag strip. As the Official High Performance Driving School of Dodge//SRT, they maintain over 100 performance vehicles. The vehicles are meticulously engineered to deliver unmatched excitement and performance whilst you’re on the track. A buff will be provided to wear under your helmet. Please allow for approximately 45-minute transfers. This activity is limited and will fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Activity Option 2: UTV Adventure

Experience high-energy off-roading through Arizona’s stunning Sonoran Desert on a guided UTV tour. Powerful four-seater UTVs handle rugged trails, rocky terrain, and desert paths with ease—no sweat, just pure fun. Whether it’s daytime or sunset, you’ll enjoy unforgettable views and an adrenaline-pumping ride across one of the most scenic and untouched landscapes in the Southwest. Perfect for creating adventurous and lasting memories. Our expert guides ensure safety and excitement while sharing fascinating insights about the local terrain, plants, and wildlife. With special permits from the Bureau of Land Management and the Tonto National Forest, you’ll explore trails most don’t get to see. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or a nature lover, UTV Adventures delivers a ride you’ll want to do again and again. Please allow for approximately 50-minute transfers. This activity is limited and will fill on a first-come, first served basis.

Activity Option 3: The Ultimate Culinary Showdown

Think you have what it takes to be your event’s next Iron Chef? Step into the culinary gridiron and test your skills in this one-of-a-kind culinary competition! Guests will be split into teams, selecting chefs and sous chefs wisely. Teams will explore a fully stocked culinary pantry to plan their creations, with a surprise ingredient revealed that must be featured in every dish. Over two hours, teams will prepare one entrée and either an appetizer or dessert to present to the judges. Fun pop-up games during the competition add excitement, offering advantages or challenges to teams. After cooking, teams will showcase their dishes, enjoy tastings, and await the judges’ decision to see whose cuisine reigns supreme. Winning teams earn ultimate bragging rights and a chef-inspired prize, with all equipment, recipe cards, and supplies provided! This activity will take place at the resort.

In this hands-on class, you’ll master the art of crafting desert-inspired salsas, from charring ingredients to mixing them in authentic molcajetes, enhancing their flavors to perfection. This uniquely Arizona class will not only fill your brain with knowledge but also your stomach with delicious, vibrant treats that you can enjoy right away! As part of the experience, guests will learn to create Ramona Farm Tepary Bean Corn Salsa, tangy Pickled Nopale (cactus pad), a fresh Pico de Gallo, and a vibrant Foraged Prickly Pear Guacamole paired with a desert-seeded Salsa Macha. On the tour, guests will explore a secluded portion of a 1,280-acre undeveloped Sonoran Desert on beginner friendly horseback riding activity. During the 1-hour ride, they’ll traverse 3 miles of diverse desert terrain, offering a unique perspective from the saddle. The trained guides will ensure your guests’ safety while keeping them entertained with fascinating information about desert plant and animal life, their ranch, their horses, and the surrounding Scottsdale area. They will share fun Arizona facts and even some local legends, ask engaging questions, and tell captivating stories to keep everyone entertained throughout the ride. Whether your guests are seasoned riders or first-timers, they’ll enjoy the thrill of horseback riding through this stunning desert landscape. Note, the maximum weight limit is 230 pounds. Please allow for approximately 25-minute transfers.
