Clyde Companies Supports Underwater Rover Competition at North Point Elementary

Underwater rover competition

Clyde Companies proudly supported North Point Elementary’s 5th-grade class in Lehi by donating $600 to help students build underwater rovers and create team t-shirts for their upcoming competition. This exciting event involved around 30 schools, all working to teach students about the real-world uses of robots and rovers.

This year, students are learning how these innovative machines help “clean” the ocean floor by removing harmful algae from turtles and picking up underwater debris. Each team had 10 minutes in the pool at the Lehi Legacy Center to demonstrate their rover’s capabilities by completing assigned tasks.

“I’m thrilled Clyde Companies stepped up to support these kids,” said Grant Ensign, Environmental Engineer at Clyde Companies. “It’s great to see them excited about science and engineering, and I’m proud we could help make this event happen.”

Students also showcased their knowledge through tri-fold posters displayed in a room, highlighting their research and understanding of robots and rovers.

We’re excited to support these creative young minds and look forward to seeing what they accomplish next!
